Cirque 101 : Learning The Ropes
This session will introduce kids to aerial silks, trapeze, aerial hoop, & basic handstands & contortion. All skills will be taught by professionals at low height with safe progressions. Children will get a taste of the skill and strength it takes to perform aerial arts, as well as getting to be a part of the magic they have seen at the circus! Students will be challenged at their level!
Cirque 202: Act Development
This camp will focus on what it takes to build an engaging aerial act. We will focus on artistry, transitions, flow, sequencing of movements, floor work, storytelling, character development, laban movement analysis, and beginner cirque face paint. All levels are welcome, but students must have a basic working knowledge in all apparatuses.
Acts may be chosen from this group to be presented in our Student/Teacher Showcase on Saturday, June 22nd!
Time: 9:00am-3:30pm
Ages: 7-16
Cost: $450
10% Sibling Discount Available
Prereqs: Must be a current student and have a working knowledge and ability to execute foundational mounts and basic skills with proper engagement on all apparatuses. Students will be challenged at their level.
(It's not too late for students to enroll in Circus Kids classes to be able to qualify for this camp!)
**Parents: Please provide a sack lunch, snacks, and a refillable water bottle! They will need it!
